An Introduction to RSS - If You Want to Eliminate Some Daily Email - Read On

Feeds, RSS, Readers and More RSS, XML, Feeds -- sounds kind of complicated. It wasn't long ago that your browser and email were confusing and RSS is much simpler (and already mainstream) - so here is all you really need to know:

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. News, information, enterprise applications and weblogs (blogs) can all be published in RSS. When a new article is posted or a change is made to an application, RSS feeds can automatically notify the user. Text, images, audio (including podcasts) and video can be incorporated into RSS feeds.

A Feed is a list of headlines, summaries and links that's updated on a regular basis. You can subscribe to feeds from lots of popular Web sites and blogs. You can also use a portal with a feed reader such as My Yahoo, MSN, Google, My AOL OR others like Newsgator, Attensa etc.

Mobile device users - you can also access RSS feeds from any Blackberry, Treo or other web enabled mobile device. New links will be here soon.

IE 7 and Windows Vista - Microsoft has RSS capability and ease of access and use built into IE 7 and all their new Office 2007/Vista products.

I highly recommend IE 7. It is by far the easiest reader to use and a tool most of you use already. You can get IE 7 here.
